Kadō : Lesson 3

This week’s kadō lesson saw a new student, which meant that there is someone in Japan who has less experience with flower arranging than I do. Not that I was actually able to make the arrangement on my own this time…I sort of periodically peeked over at the newbie’s arrangement and attempted to create mimic it. I did have one big step forward in my study of kadō – I switched two of the primary shushi from where the teacher had placed them because I felt the arrangement was more balanced that way. The desk might have been a bit wobbly though…

We used bara (rose) and nyuusairan for the arrangement this week. Simple and beautiful.
